Dr. Lamont Repollet
Dr. Lamont O. Repollet is a nationally respected education leader, public administrator, and published author with more than three decades of experience across the education continuum from pre-kindergarten to postsecondary education. As the first Black president of Kean University, he leads a diverse, majority-minority institution of nearly 19,000 students with a growing global presence. A champion for equity and innovation, he has expanded research productivity, student success, workforce partnerships, and is leading the 1st merger of two public institutions in New Jersey. Previously New Jersey’s first Black Commissioner of Education, he guided the state’s top-ranked school system and led critical responses during the COVID-19 crisis while strengthening access and opportunity for all. Dr. Repollet’s leadership is driven by a vision of inclusive excellence, positioning institutions as engines of innovation, access, and opportunity for the next generation.
